DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (DSPs)

ABC Community Services is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities. DSPs help individuals live safely and independently while promoting dignity, choice, and respect.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care and daily living needs
• Teaching and encouraging independent living skills
• Supporting community activities and appointments
• Preparing meals and maintaining a clean home environment
• Following individualized support and behavioral plans
• Completing required documentation
• Communicating with supervisors and team members
• Remaining calm, patient, and professional during challenging situations

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dependable transportation
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
• Caregiving or behavioral support experience preferred but not required
• Experience in developmental disabilities, mental health, youth services, residential care, corrections, security, or crisis intervention is helpful.
